Tea Lake · Algonquin Park
A Sanctuary Unlike Any Other.
A private Algonquin Park peninsula. One wedding at a time. Completely, exclusively yours.

The Setting
Algonquin Provincial Park
Camp Tamakwa sits on a private peninsula in Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario—nature's playground, surrounded by endless forests and crystal-clear lakes.
Established as a wildlife preserve in 1893, Algonquin is one of the largest recreational areas in North America with 3,000 square miles and 2,000 charted lakes. The camp has been a cherished summer haven since 1936.

The Lake
Tea Lake
Your arrival begins on the water. Guests board a traditional pointer boat at the mainland dock and are ferried across Tea Lake to Camp Tamakwa. Rounding the bend past the lone pine is a picturesque storybook way to set the stage for your celebration.
During your stay you have unique access to a stunning private waterfront, and the opportunity to try out a variety of different water activities. The waterfront is exclusively yours throughout your stay.

A LEGENDARY CEREMONY SETTING
The Slope
The Slope is Tamakwa's iconic tiered outdoor seating area, positioned at the water's edge overlooking Tea Lake. With the wedding party at the lower deck and guests on the terraced steps above, it creates a breathtaking natural amphitheatre. It's the ultimate setting for guests to take in the exquisite views and witness your vows.
Many couples choose The Slope for their ceremony — particularly at golden hour, when the sunset unfolds over the lake as vows are exchanged. There are several other beautiful spots around camp to say "I do," and we love working with couples to find the one that feels right for them and their guests.

The Reception Space
The Dining Hall
Exposed timber framing, string lights overhead, long communal tables that seat your entire party. The Dining Hall has hosted celebrations since 1936, and it carries the warmth of nearly a century of extraordinary evenings.
This is where your wedding dinner takes place. The full professional kitchen behind the dining hall is where our culinary team prepares every meal on site.

THE OUTDOOR COVERED VENUE
Loon Lodge
An open-air cedar pavilion set in the pines, Loon Lodge is Tamakwa's perfect mix of outdoor charm and indoor comforts. Hand-carved canoes gracing the timber beams speak to the camp's deep heritage, while the open sides draw the forest directly into the space.
Ideal for ceremonies, cocktail hours, or intimate gatherings, it is a beloved alternative when couples want the feeling of the outdoors with the cover of a roof.

The Lakeside Ceremony Space
The Beachers
The Beachers is Tamakwa's tiered seating built right onto the sandy shoreline. Facing the water with a classic stone campfire pit at its center, this beachfront overlooking the lake is a perfect space for cocktails, campfire sing-alongs, or a spectacular, natural lakeside spot for your ceremony.

The Gathering Space
The Rec Hall
The Rec Hall is a large, flexible indoor space at the heart of camp — perfect for late-night dancing, movie nights, or a rainy-day fallback that never feels like a compromise.
With high ceilings and a warm, cedar stripped interior, it extends the character of the property while giving your planners a blank canvas to work with.
